We’re looking for a seasoned pizza chef to be the beating heart of our new pizzeria. We launched as a cafe in January and soon after we started selling pizza every Tuesday night; due to the success of the Tuesday nights, we’re now launching as a fully licensed pizzeria five nights a week.
We have a fully equipped kitchen with an electric pizza oven (we will be upgrading to a dual-fuel wood and gas) and we expect to average 60 pizzas per night for eat-in, delivery, & collection.
At Otto, we’re dedicated to using high-quality, where possible local, ingredients and try to find a balance between respecting tradition and introducing new culinary concepts - we hope to replicate this with our pizza. Check out our Instagram account @ottokelvedon for some pics of our pizza!
We’ll open Wednesday to Sunday from 17:00 - 22:30 so with prep beforehand this role would require roughly 45 hours per week. There’ll also be an opportunity to work extra hours as a chef for the daily cafe service and micro-bakery making focaccia and sourdough!
As a pizza chef at Otto you will:
The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, have an eye for detail, and be self-motivated - you will be key to the restaurant’s success. You must know the difference between a Napolitana and a Romana, have a proven track record making pizza in a busy kitchen environment and have the flexibility required to work in a small dynamic team.
